修行人要能看到自己的習氣。 作為生死輪回中的凡夫,我們多生多劫以來養成了非常堅固地向外看的習氣,因為習慣于向外看,就會把痛苦的根源都歸咎于外境。 我們能承許這一點,就能夠在痛苦發生時,讓自己向外看的心先緩和下來。

[Affirmative Thinking – Relieve and Ease the Mind]
Practitioners ought to be able to discern our own tendencies. As ordinary beings existing in cyclic existence, we have developed a persistent habit of looking outward throughout eons. Since we tend to look outward, we conclude that the roots of affliction come from external situations. If we can concur with this reasoning, we would then be able to relieve and ease our minds from looking outward when we experience pain.
