【光明理路–調伏自心】
把痛苦的根源歸為境的方面,就會認為生命的苦樂操縱在他人手裡,就會用抱怨試圖讓心情好一點;或是希望別人改善來去除我的痛苦。 然而佛法的核心內涵教導我們:一切跟外境沒有關系,是心主宰了一切,「調伏此一心,一切皆馴服。 」所以只有透過修行,學習正確的理路,用更長的時間軸去觀察境和因果,調伏自心,才能改善生命狀態。

[Affirmative Thinking – Reconcile Inner Self]
If we believe the sources of affliction arise from external situations, we would deem that the control of our happiness and affliction is in the hands of someone else, so we would grumble in order to change our moods for the better or wish that someone else would change so that our afflictions would be eradicated. However, the essence of Buddhism teaches us: all has nothing to do with external situations; our inner self manipulates all; “as long as we harmonize our hearts and minds, we can subdue the causes of fear and suffering in this life and future lives.” Therefore, only through cultivation, learning accurate lines of thinking, observing circumstances and karmic cause and effect over a longer time frame, and reconciling our inner self, would we then be able to improve our life states.
