菩萨在家 当愿众生
Púsà zàijiā dāng yuàn zhòngshēng
Bodhisattvas at home Should wish that all beings
知家性空 免其逼迫
zhī jiā xìng kōng miǎn qí bīpò
Realise the nature of “home” is emptiness And escape its pressures.

大方广佛华严经卷第十四《净行品第十一》偈颂
三尊,是佛教安置佛像的一种形式。大乘佛教认为,每位如来皆有大量菩萨胁侍,以便度化众生,多半造像时会设置两位胁侍菩萨以代表之,如西方净土的西方三圣、东方净琉璃世界东方三圣等。
1、毗卢遮那佛,毗卢遮那意为遍一切处。谓佛之烦恼体净,众德悉备,身土相称,遍一切处,能为色相所作依止,具无边际真实功德,是一切法平等实性;即此自性,又称法身。
2、普贤菩萨,以其居伏道之顶,体性周遍,故称普;断道之后,邻于极圣,故称贤。
3、文殊师利菩萨,文殊师利意为妙德。以其明见佛性,具足法身、般若、解脱三德,不可思议,故称妙德。
毗卢遮那佛理智完备,居中位;文殊菩萨主智门,立于毗卢遮那佛之左;普贤菩萨主理门,位于毗卢遮那佛之右。转之则右为智,左为理时,显示理智之涉入胎藏界曼陀罗。
尔时文殊师利菩萨告智首菩萨言:善哉!佛子,汝今为欲多所饶益,多所安隐,哀愍世间,利乐天人,问如是义。佛子,若诸菩萨善用其心,则获一切胜妙功德。于诸佛法,心无所碍,住去、来、今诸佛之道,随众生住,恒不舍离。如诸法相,悉能通达,断一切恶,具足众善。当如普贤色像第一,一切行愿皆得具足,于一切法无不自在,而为众生第二导师。佛子,云何用心,能获一切胜妙功德?
