What would be your first reaction when an accident happens?
When Lecturer Jennifer Goh went on a conference trip with our youth member, Jiang Yuling to share on some PEACE work done by BW Monastery at the ASEAN_ IPR YOUTH CONFERENCE EXHIBITION recently, they had a surprise awaiting them upon their arrival at the hotel.
They were excited to be able to share about BWM’s PEACE PACER Programme by HEXA as well as HEYP Project. However, before the conference began, Yuling had hurt herself while they were out and about the hotel on a simple recce.
At that first instance, Yuling chanted the Green Tara’s name followed by the Medicine Buddha’s name while Jennifer coincidentally chanted the Medicine Buddha’s name followed by the Green Tara’s name. In the end, before they returned to the hotel room, they both chanted the Medicine Buddha’s name together as they wanted to supplicate for the Medicine Buddha’s blessings for favourable conditions for Yuling as well as a speedy recovery. Thanks to the BW Monastery’s Sangha for organising a 49-day Combined Gratitude Project where students of all BWM Lamrim Buddhist classes chanted the Medicine Buddha’s name, his mantra or his sutra. The puja successfully concluded on 4.11.18.
It is with great faith and refuge that Yuling did not suffer a very serious wound which might have affected her sharing or responsibilities at the ASEAN Conference.
