MY TEACHER, MY ROLE MODEL
Lifelong learning is what my Primary 5 form teacher and Mother Tongue teacher, Mrs Jek and her husband taught me.
One year ago, they expressed interest to attend one of our BW Monastery’s Lamrim classes! I was extremely happy! I attended the first two lessons with them. They are in their 80s! Awesome!
Their class monitor, Sister 邓玉爱 welcomed them with her wonderful team of co-monitors, Sister Sandy and Sister 陈二妹 and care co-ordinator: Sister 朱翊凤 and Brother 林建福。
Sister 陈二妹 who happen to live in the same block as my teacher even visited her when my teacher was unwell and could not attend lessons. Mrs Jek shared that she was very touched by the concern given to her and her husband. I am grateful too.
During the September holidays, my primary classmate and I had lunch with Mrs Jek and we went to BW Monastery with her for her Lamrim lesson. Seeing her entering the class, while my friend and I bid her temporary farewell and reminding her that we will see her at the end of the lesson…it seems like our roles have reversed…
In the past, as our teacher, she was like our mother… where she cared for us and taught us values. Now, we are like her parents, waiting outside the classroom for her dismissal from Lamrim lesson! The feeling that a full life journey is complete with LOVE! Thankful to the Triple Gem!
Also thanks to the tender loving care and committed delivery of Lamrim lessons by the facilitation team of S17G011C, one year of diligent learning of Lamrim has enriched the lives of the participants with Buddha’s Dharma. Here are some photos from the course completion ceremony and celebration. Thankful to Venerable Daoci for gracing the ceremony and celebration and presenting the students with their certificates.
Mega Rejoice to all! Wonderful to have a virtuous community to learn with!
