So blessed to be able to attend the 6th Fortune Blessings Puja held on the 15th day of Lunar New Year 2018 at BW Monastery.

Due to overwhelming response for the five Fortune Blessings Grand Puja held during the festive season, BW Monastery Sangha decided to hold an extra session on 2.3.18.

I am still in recovery from a bad fall in November 2017 and was unwell this week. From the looks of it on the the day, I may not be able to attend the puja.

However, I knew this precious opportunity to gain vast merits and commemorate our Guru, Master Ri Chang’s Birthday was not to be missed.

Thanks to Brother Xavier who also dedicated merits for my health upon hearing my possible absence from the puja.

I rested in the afternoon at my aunt’s house and after a home-cooked dinner, we proceeded together to the monastery. Thankful to have my caring family with me.

The entire BWM Sangha was present to preside over the entire ceremony.

The program included puja and auspicious offerings of flowers, lights, precious gems, incense and more to the Three Jewels.

I made my offerings too.

May the Wheel of the Dharma which represents Buddha’s teaching and the walk of the path to Nirvana, continues to turn and its power flourish in the three worlds.

Offering the Conch Shell or Shankha to pray for brilliance, purity and auspicious beginning in the year ahead. It is an emblem of power, authority and sovereignty whose blast is believed to banish evil spirits, avert natural disasters, and scare away poisonous creatures. May 2018 be a smooth sailing year of volunteering and dharma propagation to benefit all sentient beings.

There were also offering of food, medicine and more to heavenly deities, spirits and beings in the ghost realms, as well as to our karmic debtors.

The monastery was packed to the brim with devotees! Estimated to have 1200++ people!

Last but not least, 10 members of our Sangha were available to receive our offerings too.

Met my classmate who came!

Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!

Would like to OMAK (Observe Merits and Appreciate Kindnes) Sister PeiEr who knew of my spine condition and brought me to get a seat for the puja.

Many thanks! **(๑ºั╰︎╯︎ºั๑)♡︎

Made two new friends amongst the seated participants. We didn’t know each other before the puja but took care of each other during the puja like old friends. We are all part of the big family headed by Buddha and our beloved Guru, Master Ri Chang. Warms my heart that these senior pioneer generation took the bus chartered by BWM from Aljunied after their classes. Wonderful and thoughtful arrangement.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!

To top it off, we had a visit of the Auspicious Dragon who led all in paying respect to the Triple Gems!
