One day, manager Lin Hui Ling spoke to me during my volunteering for BWM Buddhist banners, asking me to join in a poetry recital at the upcoming event to launch the new BWM Care Department. However, it is not my strength and thus, I offered to sing an Insightful Praise instead. To my surprise, Manager Lin readily agreed to my counter proposal.
That started my musical journey representing the BWM Buddhist Banners Team. I have been volunteering in this team with my aunt Choy Leng, helping with the beading of accessories for the banners. All thanks to the ability of the group leaders to discover our potential and deploy us to an area which develops our strength.
In our BWM community, not only do we aspire to discover the beauty and observe the merits of others, we never have to walk alone. I was connected with Brother Choon Tee who is very supportive of having his two children, Zien Xu and Yien Ning, to play the violin and piano for our performance.
As it was the seasons of exams in May for the young musicians, I am grateful that we still managed to have 4 rehearsals prior to our performance. With the musicians’ active involvement in BWM youth band, “THE ODDS”, they juggled both commitments to their best ability while managing school work.
REJOICE TO THEIR COMMITMENT AND RESILIENCE!
The Insightful Praise we performed was “The Purple Gillyflower” composed by Teacher in expression of the LAMRIM – “Relying on the Teacher”.

除了要兼顾学业，还有吉祥寺 “THE ODDS” 乐团的练习以及拍摄宣传照，他们都尽量配合。实在是非常随喜他们坚定的发心与勇悍的付出!
